Kinda depends what type of sound you are going for. Both are pretty versatile, washy and easily crashable. From my experience, the K custom dark has a little less ping and stick definition and is darker (as the name implies) than the A Sweet. The A Sweet ride is a little more pingy and the bell is a little more cutting. Dom used the K custom dark for the entire T2L tour and the A Sweet for the entire Drones tour, if you preferred the ride sound in one of those eras over the other.
In case if you want something that is a lot more pingy and cutting (but less crashable) similar to older Muse songs/tours, something like 22" K Custom medium ride or 22" A custom ride would fit better for that kind of purpose. It would be good if you have the possibility to try both of them in person, but it's also good to listen to sound samples from youtube (Memphis drum shop has a ton of cymbal demo videos)
Definitely prefer the rides that are crashable, love being able to go between the two sounds so easily. I'm guessing if the dark ride has less definition it's going to be harder to pick up any ping shortly after crashing it? There's hundreds of Memphis drum shop cymbal demos which is great! Although always difficult to tell when it's mic'd up in a decent studio, need to do some demos in a dingy garage or local pub 😂
Just looking at the prices as well and the A sweet is about £170 cheaper in some places! Would love to hear these in person but it's a bit of trek to the nearest drum centre.

Any drummers still about? I need ride cymbal advice. 22" K Custom Dark Ride or 23" A Sweet Ride?

I'm loving Dead Inside at the moment, particularly the live version, when it kicks in for the ending is incredible.

He's brought the china back, k custom special dry trash china by the looks of it and a k custom special dry crash instead of the a custom efx crash. Prefer this to the way he had it before.

I feel pretty unaffected by this song. Listened a couple of times and thought it's alright. It came up on shuffle this morning and I found myself skipping it for something more interesting.

Took me a second to work out the fightingtheelements hashtag, at first read I thought it said "fighting the eel moments"

Bliss at Wembley 07, that was beefy. I remember being pretty blown away at that point. Gutted it wasn't on haarp, but at the same time if it was my mind probably wouldn't have moulded that memory into a nostalgic masterpiece.
Also quite a big fan of Sunburn in Dundee from the video.

Matt's always been pretty insecure about Muse's ability to entertain just by being themselves.
I've seen a few people make reference to Matt's "insecurity" in performances. Has he mentioned this in an interview or is it based on his on stage behaviour? I'm just curious where this has come from.

Any drummers still about?
Dom/Matt's instagram shares were a pretty cool way to start today.

Really? .
I actually don't really dislike anything off TR, save for Guiding Light. It just has relatively few high points, but is relatively consistent in terms of quality.
I think the biggest issue I have with TR these days is how the songs translate live - the remaining ones really are quite bland live, and the others that have ebbed away were too.
It's all just a bit flat, so-so, meh in retrospect. I'd rate it alongside T2L but for very different reasons, in so much as T2L was a really marmite album for me. The (few) high points were very high and the (many) low points were extremely low.
Tbh though, I can't remember what I thought seven years ago.
I'm fairly certain our musical covers of US and MK Ultra are knocking around on youtube somewhere.

Had a random memory of this gig when Chris was popping the rest of the balloons and the crowd was doing the slow build up chant every time a balloon was getting near him and cheered when he popped it.
Then when he'd thought they were all gone another was slowly bouncing towards him from behind and the crowd start chanting again and he starting looking around frantically for it. Don't know why but I found that hilarious I can't remember what song this was after though.

This was the 2nd or 3rd night in Milan, for me this would've been the perfect setlist! Bliss and CE are two of my favourites from that album, Defector is one of my new favourites and I love all of BH&R so 5 songs from that would've been amazing!
I went to Manchester night 2, so I saw Revolt, Resistance, Plug in Baby, Stockholm Syndrome instead of Bliss, MotP, Defector, TaB.
Drones
Psycho
Reapers
Bliss (Extended outro)
Dead Inside
Citizen Erased
The 2nd Law: Isolated System
The Handler
Supermassive Black Hole
Prelude
Starlight
Munich Jam
Madness
Map of the Problematique
[JFK]
Defector
Time Is Running Out
Uprising
The Globalist
Drones(Reprise)

What're the top 5 hardest Muse songs on drums?
Personally for me -
Assassin - Fast and technical at times, maintaining the ability to play it is difficult.
KoC - Can be fiddly in the trot, I've noticed Dom even simplifies this when he plays it live now, the fills can be tricky as well.
Take a Bow - Not necessarily difficult but difficult to play very well.
Animals - Needs a bit of stamina at the start, the drum bit in the guitar solo is inspired, takes a few goes to master it.
Reapers - Mainly stamina, someone who practices often probably wouldn't have an issue.

I've got tickets for this, not sure if I'm going or not, might depend on the shit-fit that gets thrown when the other half finds out, lol
I feel your pain, we're going on holiday tomorrow and I used some of our holiday savings to pay for the tickets... My plan is to pretend I'm not hungry for two weeks and tell her when we come back.

Just got some seated tickets. With stage in the centre I'm actually ok with this!

I'm a hug fan of these, amazing!

I saw something like this on the Muse subreddit, and I wanted to give it a try. I shuffled my Muse spotify playlist and the first 19 songs are what makes up the setlist. And here it is:
Take a Bow
City of Delusion
Plug-In Baby
Easily
New Born
Pink Ego Box
Revolt
Hyper Music
Exogenesis Symphony Part III: Redemption
Fillip
Explorers
The 2nd Law: Isolated System
Map of Your Head
Citizen Erased
Encore 1:
Drones
Stockholm Syndrome
Do We Need This?
Encore 2:
Ruled by Secrecy
Dead Star
What do you guys think?
Power house opening two, but gets a bit weak for me after New Born until Citizen Erased. Encore 2 is a pretty cool way to end considering they've both generally been mid set songs.

[Drill Sergeant]
Psycho
The Handler
Assassin
Citizen Erased
Uno
Dead Inside
Hysteria
City of Delusion
Micro Cuts
Mercy
Supermassive Black Hole
Reapers
New Born
--------------------
[JFK]
Defector
Uprising
Time is Running Out
Stockholm Syndrome
--------------------
Nishe
Knights of Cydonia
For a Drones tour gig that would see me happy

Can anyone recommend a good drum rack? Ideally I need it to hold two cymbal boom arms and a rack tom.
-
Assassin
City of Delusion
Muscle Museum
Uno
Fury

+1 for the higher resolution if you have them please?
These are fantastic

So, a manipulative relationship leaves someone feeling distanced or turned off from the world, and attracted to a situation where they can simply exist and have someone else run their life, without having to get emotionally involved with things.
I hadn't even considered that the protagonist joined willingly. Mind blown.

Dead Inside seems in the wrong place to me, it would've made more sense being track 3 between Mercy and Reapers as far as the storyline is concerned. As in:
Psycho (Get's caught) >> Mercy (Being broken) >> Dead inside (Is broken) >> Reapers (Kills everything)
Just a thought though. Really like the album as a whole, haven't been this excited about an album since BH&R.

This album's washed over me a little, I feel like there's no standout song(s) I'm still going to be listening to in a couple of months time.
I do like the Stranger Things theme influence in Verona though. Although something about the production reminds me of QotSA's Villains, which I liked a lot more after hearing in a live setting through a live mix. So maybe I'll like it more after hearing some live versions!
