  1. Interesting about the selects. waaaaay back didn't you mention some discontinued EMG humbuckers? I can't remember which ones at all.

and hopefully the selects (actually, they're unlabeled, so they could very well be something else) won't be too bad.

  2. Hey Impulse,

I know you have some EMG loaded guitars, so I thought I'd ask for your opinion first. Do you know anything about the single coil sized ones? I'm asking because I'm picking up a guitar with what I believe are EMG selects. For $20 each, I'm not sure what to think. These are older ones, so they could be different.

I can't say I loved the EMGs I've used before, but hopefully these won't be too bad.

  3. Hey... I know you use flickr, so I thought I'd ask...have you got a ton of views recently for no apparent reason? with the few pictures I have, I was getting a few views a day, and in the past hour, I've got 26 apparently  and it's still going up. mostly the photostream, though (rather than the pictures themselves)

  4. stealth bugger is done - picking it up tomorrow hopefully. not much needed to be done (slight neck adjustment and intonation mainly), though he did mention trying to add another neck shim, but then taking it back out because it played better

  5. I must be cursed haha.

Sorted the neck out (mostly). took it off and tightened the truss rod slightly...a little tighter than I'm comfortable with though, but not to the point where...SNAP :stunned: Looks better, BUT...another problem. the B string seems to be slipping out of the tuner. I don't understand that at all....going to try to do that thing with the knot when I (re)re-string it tomorrow.

gut pics are up if you didn't see them.

Also, the neck appears to be shimmed. Also has filled mounting holes from when it was on the Ibanez body :)

  6. It's great so far - just have to get it setup a little better. All of the guitars I've got from them have had fairly high action for some reason. And I don't know about the wiring really, but I'll post the pics in a few minutes.

  7. No idea, it was the same up until I took the strings off (or put them back on). same gauge/brand as well... probably will have to adjust the neck a little, but it's a bit strange.

  8. Hmm...just thought I'd ask. I sorted the issue with the strings flying out of the nut on that guitar (lowered the tuner poles - compared to the tele they were a LOT higher)...

might sound stupid, but would that add any tension to the neck? i had the strings off for a day, but the side where the tuners were adjusted has bowed somewhat. Other side is normal.

  9. is the other board not working?

i found out i still had jay added on one of my fake msn accounts...tempted to troll him, especially because of what his status is (can't post it here or i'll get infracted or something)

  10. cool, just sent a message - and also, you probably don't want your phone number where everyone on here can see it, so i'll delete that last message. text me back if you got it.

  11. What do you think of this one?

Not sure about the tuners...and the pickguard looks hideous! also the headstock shape...may have just been what he used back then (1998).

  12. Hey - did you get the tom anderson yet?

  13. Hey Kev

Are there new mods or something? (noticed some bold names)

Got one for kit and tab already? haha (guessing it's trad3mark)

  14. haha inorite

it was off topic a lot of the time anyway though :erm: either way..i does afraid of banter so i'm not sure what to do lololol

  15. This was with a Marshall - though I tried it with an Orange, and that mid b33f was still there...just shows that the guitar DOES matter in the overall sound haha. definitely a great pickup.

  16. Hey

Here's something that might interest you.

You know the Manson/BKP humbucker?...was just playing the Custom T which has that pickup, and that pickup seems to have a LOT to do with Matt's sound..

Sounds exactly like that if dialed in properly...it has that b33fy mid tone to it. (which the nailbomb lacks).

  17. ohai

the main problem for me was figuring how to take the thing apart  i first ended up trying to take the chassis out by itself, but it requires sliding the board it's attached to out with it....even then it can't really come out that far because of the cables of the reverb tank and speakers. what a strange design...

  18. hey bb

what's up with the AC30? just had to change the tubes (valves olol) in mine, and it probably took an hour JUST to take it apart and put it back together. not to mention that black stuff from the screws that hold the chassis in place that won't wash off my hands...

  19. hahaha :awesome:

What are you DIY-ing exactly? building something or...?

  20. yeaa :awesome:

I just bought a second one, before I only had one :( oh lawd

  21. Not sure if you picked it up yet, but let me know what happens - it SHOULD be in one piece still!

How are you liking the silverburst so far?

  22. ok then, I went ahead and sent £10 because paypal would end up eating up some of the money with their fees anyway. Not sure if you'll have to go pick up the mic or if they'll try to deliver it though?

  23. wtf...so much for it being a gift. i can paypal you £18 if you want?

  24. Not if I have anything to do with it

I'll let you decide what I'm referring to :awesome:
