Muse have stated they would like to record the new James Bond theme. QuoteRock band Muse have said they would be keen to record the theme for the next James Bond film. "It's something we'd probably say yes to, or at least give it a good go," drummer Dom Howard told the BBC. The new Muse album The Resistance, released this week, sees the band blending their stadium rock sound with strings and opera. The band also performs on the awards show, which airs live Sunday at 9 p.m. ET. When Muse signed on to perform at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, they did it with one caveat: Since the show was taking place just steps from Broadway, they wanted to do a show tune. For real. So, of course, we obliged (after all, they are one of the hugest rock acts in the world). And while they'll perform "Uprising" — the first single from their upcoming The Resistance — during the VMAs telecast, we also let them loose on a classic from the Great White Way: "America," the flamboyant standard from Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim's "West Side Story." "Yeah, 'West Side Story' is really cool. ... The song we chose to play, 'America,' is a very catchy tune," Muse frontman Matt Bellamy told MTV News. "I remember a version by a prog group called the Nice [an early forerunner of Emerson, Lake and Palmer] in the '70s, which was a pretty cool three-piece rock version, so I thought that would be a good version for us to play, because we're a three-piece too." So Bellamy and company got to work on their version of "America," recording the tune — and filming a VMA promotional spot — in their Dover, England, rehearsal space (which probably explains why bassist Chris Wolstenholme can be seen traipsing around in a Captain America outfit in the video that accompanies this story). And, as is to be expected, Muse's take on the tune is wonderful, weird and wild — which is pretty amazing, considering they had almost zero knowledge of the song before deciding to cover it. "I've never actually seen ['West Side Story'] myself, but Don's seen it, and he's a big fan of it," Bellamy said. "I didn't see it when I was a kid. I saw it a couple of years ago, and I loved the way it looked. ... It's all these really strong colors, the songs are really great," Howard added. "There's this scene I really liked with these guys: they're having a fight in a car park, and it's a bit like that Michael Jackson video 'Bad,' and they start singing this song to cool down, take it easy. "rintangan" mmg menarik! antara "jejak-jejak" menarik "rintangan", "keinginan yang tidak diperlihatkan", "pemilihan tidak semulajadi", "terlampau MK", "ku milikmu". kalau diperhatikan secara teliti, bunyi deram "keinginan yang tidak diperlihatkan" lebih kurang sama dengan bunyi deram "lohong hitam gergasi".. irama untuk penutup "pemilihan tidak semulajadi" sungguh menakjubkan! lagu "terlampau MK" adalah yang terbaik! agak berat berbanding lagu-lagu lain.. susunan lagu "ku milikmu" sungguh menarik dan menakjubkan! :LOL:

01. « Uprising » 5 :02 Matt bellamy's voice is deeper than usual. In terms of lyrics, its the usual Muse: conspiracies, apocalypse, he announces a gathering, speaks of victory and that "they will not control us." The sound, still very dense and heavy is accompanied by passages of synths. The overall structure is rather straightforward. 02. « Resistance » 5 :46 Opening in Piano, cavalcade of drums. You could swear that Freddi Mercury participated in the chorus 03. « Undisclosed Desires » 3 :56 A sound very reminiscent of Depeche Mode hovers over this piece without guitars but with vocoder laced vocals 04. « United States Of Eurasia » (+ Collateral Damage) 5 :47 Bohemian Rapsody (Queen) + Lawrence of Arabie (la score of Maurice Jarre)+ Chopin =A long cinémato-classic-rock trip Matt Bellamyhas returned to his falsetto. The song ends on a sound of a plane taking off (Space ship? Missile taking off?) 05. « Guiding Light » 4 :13 Return of the guitar solo. One of the defining features of the pompous style of Muse 06. « Unnatural Selection » Opens with Church Organs before the arrical of the drums and the powerful guitars. An epic and lyrical song. 07. « MK Ultra » Lots of electronics and bodybuilder like riffs. (meaning very very powerful?) 08. « I Belong To You » (+ Mon Coeur S'ouvre A Ta Voix) A title borrowed from the opera Samson and Dalila. A surprising delayed rythm. Clarinette arrives at the end of the song. Matt sings a few verses in French...very hard to understand. 09. « Exogenesis : Symphony Part I » (Overture) 10. « Exogenesis : Symphony Part II » (Cross Pollination) 11. « Exogenesis : Symphony Part III » (Redemption) Matts voice is very reminiscent of Thom Yorke here. This symphonie would almost pass for the guilty pleasure of a star with a passion for the romantic composers such as Chopin and Liszt...
