  1. Did you buy any of the Baccus' yet? Also, we need to rename the thread to add several organs to the sale.
  2. Is that available in the US then, I thought the BBC was region locked? Tried to listen but gave up after I registered an account then it wanted me to do a survey, then check parental guidance settings, then it asked me to install an app. Fuck you BBC just give me free content.
  3. you know me so well. In fairness to Joe, he can really play, and he seeks out legit gear to do so. I dont really like his music, but I respect him as a player. Just watch him playing Clapton off the stage to see how good he is. That said, I think his comments maybe don't read the way he meant, and they do make him sound a knob.
  4. Actually I'd go a bit further, it should probably be reserved for the high end 'nice pieces'. There's other synthetic substitutes in addition to richlite, one of which is a rosewood type made from bamboo fibre or something. It looks pretty sweet to be honest, and something I'd like to try.
  5. There are some that are similar (bubinga for example), but they're now also covered by the CITES regs, so people can't try passing off rosewood as a non-convention alternative. If you're thinking of getting a custom, don't worry too much you can still get pretty much whatever you want, it just comes with an extra charge on top, but I understand Pau Ferro is good, and has been used as a substitute for true rosewoods. As to what I think of the move to Pau Ferro, I think there's no need for scarce tropical hardwoods on cheap guitars. I think they should ditch the Pau Ferro to be honest, and go exclusively maple. It's less of an issue for Fender than say, Gibson for example. To be honest, I expect to see Pau Ferro on the CITES list in a few years time, along with all genus' of Ebony, Ziricote, and basically any other tropical hardwoods from rainforest sources. You're living at the tail end of the golden age of guitar building.
  6. Honestly, I'd probably get a modelling synth. I have a Jp08 that's incredible, though really needs a larger keyboard. If you're dead set on analogue, the Arturia Minibrute is the one to get.
  7. I think it was neither. Just a cynical observation, based on the assumption that he only started playing them when they didn't sell out straight away. Edit: how far into the Drones tour did they get before the DR1 was first used? Can't be arsed to look it up
  8. Jaicen is selling his amp. Again. Feelers out for my DSL40c, anyone interested? It's got brand new valves in, less than 12 hours on them.
  9. There has been dancing on tables too. #pubgiglife And said working nan would be disappointed to see Jaicen rocking a Manson E61 into a podlivext. I was gigging the DSL40c, but I switched to the pod when I moved over to in ears. I couldn't hear the amp with it usually being on the floor, and the pod saves time in setup.
  10. We don't play many working men's clubs, not many left these days. Set list includes Foo's, Green Day, and Jimmy Eat World, so it's not out of place.
  11. Lolz, I wasn't planning a by request show! In fairness I didn't suggest QOTSA, though I dig the track. Logistically its a nightmare, I don't want to drag around a second guitar really, and I think a polyphonic pitch shift is not going to cut it. That Saud I do gig a Pod, so if I come across a cheap Variax it could work.
  12. Ah, right so it's in an odd tuning? If so we might skip it as it seems getting into DROP D is a problem so I imagine C is going to be out of the question. In truth I haven't even looked at it yet
  13. We know nothing because we tweeted etc. Also James I think your post violates rule #1?
  14. Did Matt swap put the pickups on his Wolfgang? I'd like one, but literally only because MuscleMuseum, and even then it would have to be a legit old one because #details.
