Z custom cymbals are good for what they are ment for.. loud rock.. play jazz with them and it just wont work, Live at the mo im using 17 and 18 Z customs which are then eq'd down my reason for this is live on stage with my in ear in i just couldnt here my A custs where as the z custs come through, The Z cust 22" ride is very nice i used it for the first leg of a tour till i picked up a 22" A earth ride, whic k love even more as dor Die Cast hoops they are easyer to tune as they are more uniform than flanged hoop but they will also show up erreors in your tuning more, Also they cut down on the amont that a drum rings especialy on 10" and 8" plues they detune quicker hence i had my kit shipped with pearl super hoop2's

STAGG!!!! These guys cymbals are great. the quality control on them isnt the best so you may need to try a few to find the best one but once you do i would put them up against any Sabian Paiste or Zildjian, and they are 1/2 the price!!! beleve me in 2 years stagg cymbals will rock

The only thing really will be in your basic playing, how you hold the stick, sit, etc. people who dont have lessons normaly used their arms way more than they should most things can be done from the rist, using the simple "molor" style of playing on your hats cuts down the work load by 1/2, i'd advise you just to go to a drum teacher for 2 lessons or so to make shure your doing everything right if not you WILL damage your body and it will begin to show in later life, befor tours i always go and see my drum teacher for a few lessons to get me back in shape as well as to see if i have picked up any bad habits and to help me drop them befor the tour starts also ALWAYs wear ear plugs ew evidence show that it is only saft to listen to a snare drum for about a 1 min after thjat damage can be done and some can be for life

I really love them, before i got them i looked at all the top kits from Tama. Pearl, Yamaha, OCDP, Mapex, Sonor DW and many others. but for me Jalapeno came out on top i played one at a gig where my old kit couldnt be taken to it, and the Tour manager hooked me up with one for the show, and i loved it and so did my tech and sound tech, we meed about with it in sound check and i took the heads of and tuned it up to see how easy it was (Very!) the next day i got on phone to Dave at Jalapeno and he was most helpful it talking to me about sizes and colours and all the other options on the kit. off set lugs RIM's he even made the vent in the bottom of the kick bigger so i could pass a cable through for the May mic system i use in there.  the kit was finished in 8 weeks and came to be the day befor its first gig, it looks and sounds awsome! the kick is by far the best part of the kit not needing any dampening to kit it soundidng full and powerfull,  the over all sound of the kit is very punchy and agressive the toms sing for as long as you want and far out shine anything that ive played.  at the mo ive using the kit in rock gigs in small ish venuse (500+ people) and in pop gigs of larger sizes 2000+ its been to every recording session ive done and everyone coments on how great they sound,  another thing is, its nice to be able to phone up the guy who made my drums by hand (even the shells unlike OCDP and others ) at any point and talk to him about them during the build. o and all of your drums will be made from the same tree so they match sonicaly  at the mo i have a 10 and 8 inch tom on order and me and dave are working on ideas for my snare

Endorsments can work in a number of diffrent ways most Companys have many diffrent leves of endorsment A being the top, the B, C, D, E etc.. Not alot of people get free gear. i bet Dom dosnt, only your TOP players get Unlimeted free stuff and the company makes the money back on the amout of idiots that buy stuff just coz their hero has it OCDP only has to artists who get free gear Adrian Young and Travis. not even Joey got free stuff in his years with them ( how many OCDP kits are their in the world that look just like Travis Barkes? ) Any way here is some info on endorsments and how to get one. Discount. does what it says on the Tin. You get s discount on what ever product it is normaly there are a few diffrent levels like 25% 35% 50% 70%. at the lower end of this the company will not give you any exposure as your not worth it, like my endorsments with Jalapeno and Zildjian the next level up is getting a free amout of gear up to a set amout each year and then a discount if you go over that here the company will expect you to be in their add's to promot the gear you use, they mite also ask you to do clinics and be at launches of new gear or at NAMM next is the holy grail of endorsments FREE STUFF!!! only the best of the best get this Getting an Endorsment Unless the company aproches you as Zildjian did with me you will need to make the first contact a great idea is to phone them and talk to the AR (artist relations) team and see if its posible for you to get an endorsment of them. Then Send in a press pack, Mine for Zildjian had 6 of the most reacent albums ive played on and the ones im most proud off also reviews of the CD's and info about them, where recorded who with was i in the band or just session etc. For my 2 personal bands T-shirts CD's stickers photos of gigs and reviews, Adverts info on the bands. What they really want to know here is. Is their product going to be seen and heard my alot of people and are you a good rep for it. Then i put in loads of other stuff like a demo of a new band im in. my plans for this comming year. and any other projects ive been in. etc Panto/musical pit work teaching clinics etc Put all you can get in a nice folder with a friendly letter and send it off to them. and then wait and see. if you get an endorsment you dont go to shops anymore you get your stuff straight from Zildjian or what ever. aslso if your giging and you cant get your stuff to you call them up and they will provide it for you! im going to be in studio for 2 days but if anyone want to e-mail me. TigerADV@hotmail.com and i'll get it on my laptop

Nice one "pearl guy", i dont dampen mine at all the only thing thats in there is very smallbit of pillow padding that dont touch any of the heads, its just for the shure Beta 91 to sit on, as for my trip to Zildjian, yes im now a Zildjian Endorser, just need to figer out what cymbals i want now. i have 4 diffrent tours already booked for this year and a recording session all with very diffrent needs, its hard to think what would suit each one. I would like to keep the basic set up the same but just chang crash cymbals for each session but wellhave to see

Tama does not do custom orders you can phone them and ask i did. they do do a virgin bass on the SCP put it will be about a 6 month wait, so i was told, the Scast mounts look the same as any other RIM style mount but dont work the same, they attch the the rim not the lug or rention rod and dont grip one firm enough for my liking they wobble lick crazy

I'll get some more pics of it this weekend for you. im doing some gig's as a warm up for a tour. still undecided what cymbals to take with me at the mo my set up is Paiste Sound Formula 13" med hats 20" power ride Sabian AAX 10" splash Zildjian Z custioms 17"&18" med crashes Or A custom 18"&19" projections 18",20" or 22" china and a old Zildjian cymbal i have no idea what it is other than its 20" its about med to thin in weight and a bit batterd making it sound like a Crash of Doom but darker and more trashy. all i can think of is that its a K of some kind thats been abused. Anyway I dont want to take my Paistes on the road and you cant buy them anymore so i need replacements for them and i need another splash thats more high pitched, Im going to Zildjian on Thursday with my tech and Sound tech to look at cymbals and talk about endorsments. Whats wrong with pearls L arms? they are the most secure tome arm on the market the Ball mounted arms can move me freely but in turn dont offer the same stability in holding the tom in place, hence alot of people with custom kits including me use Pearl tom arms, My tech uses the lower budget ones on mine when we tour as even if it comes loose during a show the gears hold it in place

hay hay im back been doing session work over xmas so no time to post anyway. Yes Dom does get his kit custom made. TAMA do this only for endorsors same with black and gold h/w The pic posted earlyer "asking what is this?" memory lock was part right, it was a floor tom leg bracket. there was a memory lock attached to it. these make it so you get the same set up each night. and £150 for a 2nd had A cust projection crash. you must be joking you can get a 18" new for that much. anyway Sabian AAXplosions sound much better. and are cheeper

Alot of stuff was leaked at NAMM, I talked to some guys their and got the low down. its nuthing really special, nuthing that other companys dont offer already at better quality and prices, Its actualy called a ribbon crasher, a company "Rythem tech" calls their a rythem crasher and this name has stuck, kind of like how we all call personaly tape players "walkmans" but really only Sony ones are. Man Andy Edwards teaches you, I had lessons from him about 6 years ago he was a good drummer but a lame teacher i hated the guy, so i moved to the guy who gave him lessons much nicer guy and better player and teacher

TAMA starclassic maples dont come in packs only the birtch does, a shop may make a pack but TAMA does not supply them as such for a kit like dom, (you cant get the same colour as him, TAMA no do the old blue sparkle kit but not the chrome or black HW,) would set you back about £1800 with no stands or cymbals, Ludwig Black Beautys 14 x 61/2 go for around £450 but they come on ebay alot. Look at the Ludwig 400's they sound much better IMO and go for about £320 Of your on a budget look ar the Ludwig 300 @ about £99 its about the same as the 400 but made in china with a few lower grade parts, Or there is the Pearl Chad smith @ £150 that sounds just like a 400, Dom is now using a Starclassic Maple in 14x 61/2 A ribon crasher attaches to any cowbell holder or a cymbal stand top (with no cymbal on) it has an eye bold like you see on a cowbell

Go and Get some Sticks any top brand. (vic firth, promark, Valter, Regal tip) and a practice pad.. its not alot of fun but it makes you better. then go and get some lessons if your in the UK they go for round £10 - £15 an hour.. dont buy a kit to start with as you mite no like drumming. after a while if you want to keep going ket a kit.. there are 1000's out there keep away from cheep ones they may save you money to start with but it will break and you'll out grow it fast. Look at Pearls Exports, Tama's Rockstars, or Premiars Artist's need any help just e-mail me im on a tour now so i only have my MSN e-mail really. TigerADV@hotmail.com

Thanks for that TIRO I saw the kit twice and both times he was using A customs. as to the ride i couldnt ID it i know it was a K or K custom 22" it had been cleaned so much that the logo's had worn off. As to how i saw it, I work for a company that provides Logistics, Security and all sorts of other things for tours, I dont actualy work on the muse tour :'( But on a day of i got chance to just tag along and how could i turn that down

take alook at this thread http://209.25.203.234/showthread.php?t=60291 that tells you all you need to know about pedals, I have both the Elim and the IC i prefer the Elim more it feels lighter on the foot and with the interchangable Cams you can really get any feel you want

Isnt that what i said TAMA has officialy supplyed him with a Silver Sparkle Kit SC maple, Blue Sparkle SC maple ( colour now available to the public ) his new kit is a SC maple with Mirror Chrome Wrap and Black HW, All others you have seen him with have been rentals bar some used in studio, His Old Pearl Kit was a Green Wrap Export, As for the Cymbal Sound yes they will be EQ'd through the mic's to get them to that pitch, Hence Zildjian Z cust's cound Crap in person but great through a PA

At the momant their Quality Controle aint so hot, But in my View They still make great heads Im using them at the mo on my kit and they sound great, Dom has never really used them on his full kit only right at the start, Then He used remo on all his toms and kick and a aquarian HE head on his snare

You will never get the sound for Doms drums with out Tama Starclassic Drums, Mics EQ Gating and Compression, so dont try, Dom at the mo used Remo Emps on the batters and Ambasadors on the Reso, also a CS black dont on the snare (6 1/5 Starclassic maple) and PS3 on the kick

Its a 22" ride, hang on.. why do you want sticks like dom? do you think having his sticks will make you play better? stick choice is a personal thing its down to you do go out and get stick just cos your hero has them, you have no idea how many kids damage their arms with Travis and adrian young Sig sticks

Doms Sticks are made by a small compay called Schure the Crash of doom is mounted to his right next to the crash over his hats, its not replased the China which is still to his left between the 13 and 16 floor toms,
