    Japan

Awesome news for Japanese fans. But Japan in November, Australia in December, a month in between that's so far unaccounted for - damn it, Muse, you're getting this Kiwi fan's hopes up again.
  2. Yep, exactly. It was great, don't get me wrong, but festivals just aren't the same.
  3. NZ has been left out of these arena tours every time since 2007, so I'm not getting my hopes up too much, but I still can't help checking the tour dates page two or three times every day...
  4. The new album has brought me out of hibernation! What do you guys think, if any of you are still around? I have kind of mixed feelings. But I do like that it's riffier and rockier. Reapers and The Handler are excellent. The Globalist has some good moments, but 10 minutes is way too long.
  5. Anyone here go to Westfest the other week? Went to the first night with my flatmate. Rob Zombie was amazing! Just such a brilliant performance. Eagles of Death Metal were fun. Megadeth aren't really my thing, so didn't enjoy them so much.
  6. Pretty much, yeah! I didn't go in 2005 after going to my first one in 2004, but went to every other one after that. I was considering it, but the lineup just didn't quite excite me enough. And then I didn't really feel like it anyway after a sad week at our flat. But once I started hearing such favourable reviews for the venue I did start to almost wish I was there! Maybe next year. But I still think Veils gave me more for my $35 the week before than I would have got from BDO for $180!
  7. Have an awesome time at the BDO, guys! Weather's a bit dodge at the moment, but forecast says it'll improve. Fingers crossed. Sorry for not doing my part to keep this thread alive! Have to say Muse have faded a bit in my estimations lately, and I haven't listened to them in a while. The fact that they don't bother coming here any more, while The Veils had tears in their eyes at their gig here last week when they were talking about how much it meant to them to play in their home town, has played a part in that. NZ and Auckland pride to the fore for me, I guess. Plus The Veils' live show is jaw-droppingly amazing.
  8. Yeah, seems that way. Disappointing. Back in 2007 they were saying, even in overseas interviews, how NZ was one of their favourite places to go on tour. Seems they can't be arsed now.
  9. Oh, and our MP is David Shearer. Yeah, it's one of those suburbs you don't hear much about. I'd never heard of it before I moved to New Lynn and had to drive through it to get to the city. It'll be awesome to have you here! I'll start thinking about stuff we can do while you're here.
  10. Ugh, that's so annoying! Makes no sense at all to bring such a young kid to a show like that. Yep! Spent our first night there last night, and I love it. It's bigger and more comfortable, it's in a quieter street and it's closer to the city. And only $10 a week more for each of us. Perfect.
  11. Anyone else been to see Wicked? I got dragged along by flatmates. Thought it wouldn't be my thing at all... But then it was amazing! So awesome. I loved it so much, in fact, that I just bought a ticket to see it again. Closing night, so could be even better.
  12. Yeah, sounds worth going! I don't know what to expect from the venue, though - it's a much smaller area than Mt Smart. It'll be interesting to see how they lay it out. You should definitely try a Veils album or two! I'd recommend Nux Vomica - I don't think there's a song I dislike on it.
  13. In other news, The Veils were so, so brilliant last night. Highlights were Not Yet, Nux Vomica, Sit Down By The Fire, The Tide That Left And Never Came Back (a slow, acoustic version that the crowd tried to sing along with but couldn't figure out the tempo) and Jesus for the Jugular. And I'm seeing 'em again tonight!
  14. Sounds awesome! Yeah, pretty good, thanks! Still really enjoying my new flat. Just having a casual look around for other job opportunities now, though - I've loved this job, but it's been four and a half years now. And some of my favourite workmates have left in the last couple of months, and it's just not the same without them.
  15. I hope so! If I remember right, Adelaide and Perth were in the same boat as us - full tour in 2007, then 2010 Big Day Out, then left out of the arena tour later that year. The fact that Perth and Adelaide got gigs this time makes me optimistic. Â In 2007 the NZ announcement came a few weeks after the Australian ones. I guess they'll wait and see how many extra dates they need to add in Aussie.
