The engineer was a tart.
-
Because you've got to be digical these days.
-
What do we think of this guy?
-
Are there any exercises that you would suggest to make me a better player? Or is it just a case of keep playing?
-
I use the Evans ones and they're pretty good. I'm not hugely fond on the tom sound I get but my bass drum is immense.
-
Ok, my immediate thought is to go for "rock" since I'm a fan of rock music, but then, if my thinking is right, don't they give off a duller sound and feel, where as a medium weight would be nice and bright? I've gone for PST5s by the way. 14" Hats 16" Crash (Might change this for a 17", not sure yet) 18" Crash 20" Ride. Help meeee people. I'm also replacing my coated head for clear emperors (got ambassadors on the reso, currently got coated emperors on the batters). Also, Mapex Panther Premium Steel 14 x 6.5, head/reso suggestions? That'll do me kiddies! . EDIT: Hmmm, how much better than PST5s are Alpha Pros?

What batters heads/resos does dom use?

I demand you all stop being good at drums until I'm good.

Haha, cheers dude. I was so chuft when I managed that yesterday, It's not even right but it's almost there . Nice cymbals btw

Listen to me attempt a Hyper Music fill Please remember, I'm only very new. Don't laugh at me .

Hey hey. Just a quick question, if you look at This (Paul Gilbert, Scarified Video) am I right in thinking that the drummer has a set of closed hats mounted on the right of his kit(His floor tom I think). I've always thought about having a normal set and a closed set of hats in a kit for double bass but never seen it before, is that what he's doing?
-
Yes but it's quite tricky for someone just coming to terms with limb seperation. Sounds like I've just lost a leg or something haha.
-
I can do that bit! I thought you meant the B SS B SS B SSSSSS (I find that a bit tricky, I've been practicing going snare, kick, hitom, kick, midtom, kick, lowtom, kick and back up, that's helping me lots) bit if that means anything to you. I actually really really enjoy riding then striking the bell, very satisfying Thanks dude!
-
Haha, off the top of my head I can't think which bit that is. I'll have a listen tonight and tell you if I can actually play it or was mindlessly bragging . I played it right through though pretty nicely.
-
Just keeping practicing it! I can play space dementia too now which is really really nice to be able to do. I just could'nt even contemplate even that small level of limb seperation a few weeks back. I'm going for a session tonight so we'll see what happens . Definately need to get me a Big Dog pedal though, might go down eccles drum centre tomorrow!
-
I'm punting for PST 5s so I am.
-
Paiste Alpha's are nice .
-
Haha they do look good, but I really really really liked this Big Dog one, it just felt so solid and I was pretty fast with it! I want a double one as well so it's like, £150 for the big dog one, 300 for the iron cobra! And I actually preferred the big dog.
-
I envy you . That's great though, I can copy you, ta very much! On another note, It's so so much easier to be faster on the bass pedal when you've got a decent one, I played on my mates big dog pro one today, it's much much much easier to use than my Tama HP200. Edit: On another nother note, I was really proud today when I could play Bliss (the beat at least), a bit of limb seperation!
-
Oh I wish I could drum like that
-
Not to mention the constant panning camera and that guys voice really pisses me off. But you're right, there's nothing special in that video.
-
Are there any british mags based solely on drumming??
-
Please could drummers post their fave websites from which to buy cymbals. Thank you

Does Dom use 13" hats? All the sound samples I've listened to I really prefer them, the chick sounds nicer to me and and the open sounds much lovelier than 14"s. Hmm.
