  1. well technically they're relatively cheaper than DSLR lenses. I'm ever so tempted to rock a interchangeable lens one.. but the 23mm f2.0 lens serves me well and makes me move around more / play with composition Back home so here's a post processed one: Fern by crazybobbles, on Flickr
  2. Nope, there's a wealth of lenses available, I chose the fixed to keep the profile minimal, the more bulk it takes the less likely I'll bring it (plus I'm keeping my dslr for gigs). You can rock a 14mm as well as a 55-200mm lens. The apertures of them are amaze balls. There are folks essentially ditching their dslr gear for it. Manual focusing on this bad boy is amazing but I haven't really needed it yet. I don't think £ for £ the Leica is worth it. I got the Fuji from strong recommendations, uka recommended me it before I mentioned the camera brand I was considering.
  3. It's definitely where the camera market should be heading. Only folks who really need a dslr are ones that require fast shutter speeds and auto focus. Sports, bird and gig photography to name a few. Everything else (street photography, portraits and even weddings) could be handled by a good quality mirrorless. Try one. People want it so hard they're buying it for $3000 in America due to a bunch of stock getting water damage
  4. Molly by crazybobbles, on Flickr Love the image quality of the x100s, also the focus of auto is pretty fast
  5. Yeah, the image quality is amazeballs. I'll post you some low lights on iMessage. Straight from the camera. You can get mirror less for less the price (canon eos m is £350) and the quality is on par to small dslrs, but I wanted something comparable to a 5d mark ii and the ISO tests on dpreview show it
  6. Image quality and low light noise on par to dslr. Auto focus is a bit hampered, noise is minimal, weight is reduced, size is reduced, hipster increased. Also has an electric viewfinder! Basically the money I'm spending is enough to get two small dslrs but I'm going for sheer image quality, portability and retro look. Lauren loves the design
  7. Oh yeah that haha. Portability was my top priority in this, what with the whole "the best camera is the camera you're carrying" concept. Not being able to bring the dslr for most cases ruins shit. Keeping things low profile is definitely a bonus but the other awesome thing I love about it is that you make a better connection with the camera, a romantic bond between yourself and the camera. It makes you want to take it out of your bag and start shooting. The feels of it is more intimate than a Goliath of a dslr
  8. Why in my face? I don't think I can hack a g series anymore. I still have a g9 gathering dust. All about the mirror less now
  9. Yeah, first time. Was tough but I do have a lot of stuff indoors to take as backup haha. I'm starting to get sick of how casual unfriendly my 5d is probably going to buy a Fuji x100s
  10. Build a guitar room. But heck famous guitarists have guitar walls too. It's not for photos either. There's a beauty behind hanging up a guitar on a wall like its a painting. Forever there to amaze and impress (and reflect you if it's a mirror which is perfect for girlfriends doing their makeup) Risk is risk but yeah, there's risk in putting them in racks too. Only safe spot is a case but that heavily impacts frequency of play
  11. there's definitely risk involved, but hey, guitars are meant to withstand a bit of throwing in the first place adrian keeps making a point about how the guitars are meant to be tour proof so you're not stitched up at a gig.
  12. Got wooden floor so no guitar floor I'm afraid now I'm convinced you actually put the non mansons on the floor most of the time Picture ANY guitar shop having a guitar hanger malfunction, but what can you do? Racks are boring and doesn't showcase the guitar

  14. never said i only wanted straight angles, though when it starts making you tilt your head you've gone too fair. angles can be used effectively for framing more stuff than the standard leveled photo would accommodate, like this:
  15. Well I mainly do gigs which is why it's useful. However now I rock pits only I just want to rely on my 24-70mm only. It's sad because I love primes. Photos are already on Flickr, just aware gig photos are a bit dull even if its muse. The only creative part at a gig is framing the shot, the rest is down to gear. I only posted bokeh one since that has a slight creative override to achieve (playing around with the focus)
  16. That shot was on the 24-70mm, I can bring that lens only to most places. 17 is distorted but its obviously intended for wide shots so all good
