Both of the cymbals are medium-thin, so there is not a huge difference, but the sweet ride's ping is a little brighter so it should come through a little better than the K dark's. The dark ride will be a little easier to crash though when compared to the sweet ride because it's a tiny bit smaller cymbal, and the dark ride has a little less weight because of it. But one thing with Zildjian's rides especially, is that they tend to have a quite big scale of "acceptable" weights for a given cymbal. E.g. a quick youtube search shows K custom dark 22" rides ranging from 2410 grams to 2889 grams, and A sweet rides ranging from 2746 grams to 3025 grams. So you never know what kind of unit you're getting unless you can try them out in person or purchase from a place that sells the cymbals by weight. But the best thing to do is probably just listen through a ton of them, and getting an opinion which cymbal generally sounds better to your ears. I'm currently playing an 23" A Custom 25th anniversary medium-thin ride (which is very similar to an A sweet ride, the A Custom just has a little smoother lathing and a brilliant finish on top), and it's by far my most favourite and most versatile ride cymbal I have played. It crashes easily, it's got a good wash but the stick definition still comes through, and the bell is bright and cutting. I played around with a 22" K Custom dark ride about a month ago, and it's ping was definitely a little darker when compared to my A custom 23", but it wasn't too far off.

Yeah definitely happy that he added china cymbal again!, He also switched his hi-hats from K light 15" to K Sweet hats (most likely 15", but size is unconfirmed) and his ride back to the 23" A Sweet ride (Dom had K light ride 22" for the ST promo shows, K Constantinople 22" thin overhammered for most of the U.S. tour and K Custom special dry ride [no idea of the size, probably 21"] for the last show of the U.S. tour) Kinda depends what type of sound you are going for. Both are pretty versatile, washy and easily crashable. From my experience, the K custom dark has a little less ping and stick definition and is darker (as the name implies) than the A Sweet. The A Sweet ride is a little more pingy and the bell is a little more cutting. Dom used the K custom dark for the entire T2L tour and the A Sweet for the entire Drones tour, if you preferred the ride sound in one of those eras over the other. In case if you want something that is a lot more pingy and cutting (but less crashable) similar to older Muse songs/tours, something like 22" K Custom medium ride or 22" A custom ride would fit better for that kind of purpose. It would be good if you have the possibility to try both of them in person, but it's also good to listen to sound samples from youtube (Memphis drum shop has a ton of cymbal demo videos)

Does someone know when the tickets are available for collection from the box office? The order confirmation mentions only that the tickets are available for collection on the day of the event, but doesn’t mention any specific time.

I'm pretty sure that they'll make the set a little special, it's still a charity gig at a fairly small venue. I think Showbiz and a live debut from ST could make it to the set at least. This is not a rehearsal pic, but Dom's drum tech (owner of Q Drums) seems to be back in Europe again at least, so maybe they started today or they could start tomorrow? Has anybody ever succeeded in getting tickets from Twickets for this gig? Every time a new listing comes up and no matter how fast I've been, they are always reserved for another buyer already. Do they really go all in just few seconds?

Yes, gone are the 14" floor tom and 18" china cymbal. From the research that I've made, his kit's and other gear's specs at the moment are the following: Q Drum Co. mirror polished stainless steel drum kit (or Copper kit for the last U.S. shows, or Black mahogany/poplar/mahogany with brass inlays for the last European festival shows respectively) 22" x 16" kick (24" diameter kick for the Copper) 12" x 9" rack tom 16" x 16" floor tom 18" x 16" concert tom (no bottom head) Various Q metal snares, usually 14" x 7" Gentleman Copper. Other snares include 14"x7" Plate Aluminum, Gentleman Aluminum and Gentleman Brass. 2 x Q custom-made light up electronic drum pads (that replaced the ribbon crasher and tambourine) Zildjian cymbals: 15" K light hi-hats 19" K Custom dark crash (or K Sweet crash with the copper kit at the last U.S. and Mexico shows) 22" K light ride 20" A Custom EFX Remo drumheads: Powerstroke 3 (clear on kick batter and coated on concert tom) Controlled sound coated with center dot (snare) Coated Emperors (tom tops) Clear Ambassadors (tom bottoms) Hazy snare size Ambassador (snare side) Custom clear kick front head with Simulation Theory text 2 x Roland PD-8 pads Roland SPD-30 octapad Combination of Roland RT-30 and 2Box triggers for kick, snare, and toms DW 9000 hardware, hi-hat stand, throne, and pedals Remo quick lock hi-hat clutch M1 Snareweight dampener Vic Firth AJ2 sticks

Those were some expensive tickets. It was also rather annoying to start choosing sections for the seated areas one by one, and try to find seats. Managed to get one luckily for stalls seating. I wanted to go standing, but the SBE crowd at the front was just too crazy to experience again. Wouldn't probably be as crazy at RAH as SBE though. Very happy to be going nevertheless!

Now that Muse played Eternally Missed again at the request show, I decided to make a drum cover of it. Dom played the fill leading to the chorus, and the choruses a little differently compared to the studio version. I used both ways through the cover, and added a few things here and there!

Yeah this is awesome! Good luck for everyone who can attend, the SBE was the best night of my life, but I'll have to pass this one. We really need more live debuts/songs that aren't performed in ages, I'm really hoping they would play Eternally Missed at least. FAWY, Exo-Politics, Exogenesis, Big Freeze, ... there are so many great songs, will be interesting to see the voting list

I really like this one! I enjoyed this a lot more than Dig Down, especially Dom’s drumming is very nice (the handclap samples not the most fitting for the song though), but the tom groove is cool. Matt’s vocals sound great and I can already imagine that this song is going to be a killer live, especially Chris’ woahs. Don’t see this as a Fury 2.0 though, but a good song

Afaik, Munich Jam wasn't played as fast ever during Drones tour. This year in the U.S. they have been playing it a bit faster, but not as fast as SBE gig edit. typical Drones tour speed: U.S. 2017: SBE (the whole jam faster here though, not just the final parts, seems the fastest ever version):

Here are my videos of the gig (missing only Plug In Baby). I was going to record rare songs, and well we got many of them, and decided to tape some "not so rare" ones when I had to give up my spot at the front. Pretty good audio imo, but some are very shaky due to my jumping, insane crowd and such

Yeah, but I've attended dozens of gigs from loads of different bands (including Muse once before) and I've never experienced anything like that. But I totally understand that everyone wanted to go nuts and the venue isn't the best for concerts, but it still surprised me that it was really really rough at the front. I'm sorry for you too But yes, it was an unforgettable night, and I feel really grateful too to have attended it!

So I’m now back to home in Finland. Let me say first; OH MY GOD WHAT A GIG! The most insane show I’ve ever attended, and to be honest, this is going to be hard to beat. I started queuing at 5.20am, at number 54. Long story short, the queuing was very well organized, the security people (especially Laura) were really friendly and open about everything. Things started to get messy with the O2 customers getting their own queue and literally people turning up right before doors got in same/better spots as fans that had been queuing forever! All the fans were really nice and everyone was in a great mood, this was my best queuing experience so far and it was fun to meet new people. We could hear them soundchecking Glorious, and we were making guesses about the first time, and we really liked the idea of Assassin starting the show. When doors opened after 7pm/19.00, I got to the third row. That stage was so low I could barely see something. But after 9pm, when lights go out, crowd is shouting and the band walks on stage. And then, Assassin kicks in. Holy sh*t what a way to start. The crowd was so loud, everyone was pushing me from all sides, I couldn’t breath and it was so hot, I started sweating instantly more than I had ever before. I knew I couldn’t take the whole gig in that kind of circumstances. My glasses and phone were being dropped all the time, I nearly fell to the ground so many times, and I could already feel where I was going to get bruises, lol. Dead Star and then Muscle Museum, I was so excited, but I couldn’t take it anymore. I literally felt like I was going to faint and die, and I got an asthma and a panic attack, I just had to run away/squeeze out from the front as nobody couldn’t hear or see me asking for help. The rest of the show, I couldn’t see anything, and I was feeling like sh*t, but it was totally worth it. The setlist was so spot-on, and the performances of the songs were amazing. I’m disappointed in myself that I couldn’t stay at the front for the entire show, but I never felt so bad in my life, and I wanted to hear all the songs. And there’s really no reason to complain, I got tickets to the show and heard every song. So unforgettable, this show made history. I’m now uploading the songs I got to Youtube, I’ll make sure to post links here (Spoilers: they are so shaky and bad angle, but sound is very good!) Easily and Showbiz already uploaded;
